CROSS CRAWL

Start the class with about four minutes of a cross-crawl exercise

Builds core strength. Energizes the body and calms the mind, releases tension and stress.  Improves eye teaming skills - focus, reading, and writing - and enhances whole brain thinking while the left and right hemispheres work together.

Stretch

Stretch the body in all directions, twist the head and neck...

Start some slow movements, like pretend Tai chi, marshal arts, or boxing.
Ask a student to lead the class.

Pretend you are picking up a large beach ball. Hold it in front of you, then twist to either side, as far as you can. Make certain you keep the arms apart the size of the ball, and the tension.
